Singing at the Theatre Royal

On Monday Kumara School went to the Theatre Royal to sing to the elderly.

On the way there we had to choose a buddy my buddy was Archie. It was good because he was calm but excited at the same time. As we walk inside the theatre royal we made our mark on the carpet and sang.

As I open my mouth to sing my face freezes with embarrassment.It was awkward singing in front of a big crowd.

I could smell the delicious food getting served all around me.I could feel the sweat dripping down my face because in side the theatre royal was on fire.

I could hear people talking and laughing also clapping it was weird.I could see the community smiling and laughing I felt happy that they smiling.

Suddenly the singing was over and we got called outside.The workers from the theatre royal served us chips and tomato sauce. I could taste the delicious salty chips hit my mouth it felt like was in heaven.

That was my experience of singing at the Theatre Royal.

On a hot sunny day in the holidays

We were learning to write a moment in time but still make it descriptive.

Introduction: I wanted to stay on the tramp but it was on fire. So I had to go inside.

As I walked inside I collapsed on the couch Crossing arms with anger. I feel like a ice block mounting right now.I was wearing sports outfit but I was still too hot.I had a red face like a tomato.I was sighing because it was like a hundred degrees outside.I felt mad because all I wanted was to go on my tramp but it's too boiling it felt like I was on mars or in a Australia.My face started to cry there was so much sweat it looked like I was crying.My eyes rolled with exertion.It felt like my mouth was going to drop. I had sunblock on but still got burnt. My heart was pounding like lightning.My hands turned all puffy.

Conclusion: I was wishing it wasn’t so hot as it is today.

My amazing writing about the park

The park was icy like you were on a ski field.The ice was sparkling on the grass at the park.You could feel the icy grass melting on your feet and the wind swishing all around you.The flowers were trying to bloom out of their shell. There was a whole meadow of flowers and grass. Also bushes. The trees were covered in leaves. There was so many that it reminded me that I saw a man in a shop with so many tattoos. That’s what the tree looked like. There was different kinds of trees. You could hear birds chirping and singing with excitement because finally summer was here. You could taste polon off the flowers.

The delious biscuits

The biscuits taste like heaven.You could smell them from a mile away.You could feel the cookie doe softing in my hand.I hear crunch crunch when it went in my mouth.I could see heaps of delicious cookies on the table.I could even see my brother trying to steal them all because he’s a cookie monster.

Motorbike descriptive writing

Zoom zoom! Beep beep “move it” I yell as I zoom past a car. It is as speedy as lightning. I was so excited to go for a new adventure.  I was going on 4hr ride on the countryside road. The road was different colors because of a cheap old thing on the road. Now I have to pass it because I want to keep on the road. So I can get to my camping place. The motorcycle’s wheels were burning it smelt like burnt rubber. I could feel bugs drooping down my shirt and the wind beneath my eyes.”I wish I brought my special goggles” saying to myself with a whisper. I shot off  in the night.I could hear my tyres rubbing against the ground they were flat as a popped balloon.And the road was covered with gasoline and oil everywhere. Remind myself to never take adventure again saying to myself.

We were learning to show not tell and wasn't aloud to put the word fast in our writing.

Show don't tell writing

Ewww what the heck she said with a terrified face.It was a weird bug it had a dark brown shell with nippers and a hard head it felt like a helmet. Her eyes popped with fright she could smell fear in the air. Her heart pounded it sounded like thunder.her eyes looked like they were crossed. Her mouth went wide open her face screwed up as it moved then she found out what sort of bug it was it was a weta its face looked like a ant face its body was a weird shape its whole body was dark brown It was medium size. She gasped with fright.

The room was a mess

The room was mess

A mountain of clothes making a misty feeling in the air. There was mountains of stuff on the floor, no longer being able to see the carpet. Makeup and Lego bits scattered all around the room. Everywhere I looked, looked like a bomb of makeup and lego exploded leaving a mess all around. The carpet in the room looked like dust mites lurking in it. It felt like I was stuck in a rubbish dump. The room was misty, dusty and damp I could barely breathe.

My amazing gymnastics writing

                                                               

Welcome to the stage Jamielee Sanson please make your mark on the floor. I popped out of the crowd and leaped on the gymnastics floor.
The floor was hard as concrete. I can hear my heart beating like thunder going boom boom. This was new to me. I can hear the silence of the crowd wondering if I’m going fail or not. You can do it Jamie saying to myself in a whisper. I could smell the dusty dirty floor. I saw the crowd with disbelief faces. Then I jumped into action and flipped into the upside down splits. I don’t want to hit the ground. I can do it then for some reason it was over. I landed on my feet like a champion gymnast landing a triple double flip. I couldn't believe it suddenly the crowd went wild I heard cheering from all around the room I heard it everywhere.

And the thing I loved about writing gymnastics is that I really enjoy doing it during lunch limes and morning teas

Kumara School have been learning about the solar system. I chose the HD189773B because it’s so interesting. What other planet rains glass?

The planet HD189773B is 63 light years away from Earth. It’s called the blue alien planet.  Researchers say the blue color in the atmosphere likely comes from a rain of molten glass.

The planet HD189773B is different to other planets because it rains glass. The air around the planet has a lot of ‘silicate crystals’. The silicate crystals start to melt because it’s so close to the sun. They then turn into glass and that’s how it rains glass.

On HD 189773B the glass rains sideways because the wind is so strong. In fact, the wind travels 2km per second. On Earth it would take five hours and 33 minutes to get around the equator.

The planet HD189773B would be a scary place to go to. It's awful and unusual and who knows what else is there.

Waking up for the day

Zzzzz As I woke up, I said to myself with a whisper “that was the best sleep of my life.”  Then suddenly I heard the alarm go off. Nana was yelling like there was a fire. Saying “deegan deegan”. It was getting louder and louder. I was still trying to go back to sleep.I was warm as a newborn puppy. I said to myself” I feel like a bug in a rug. The windows were covered and also shut. It was really dark like a storm trying to crash in.My blanket was all over me. My back was stiff my neck was sore it felt like I snapped it but I didn’t. The greatest worst storm in america

The wind howled menacingly like a wolf at the full moon. The ship …….  Was going over and over the dark and rough sea the sea men were howling with fright like a  wolf scared of a bear. The waves were like mountains and the waves were getting bigger and bigger by the minute. The  men were so scared they were going to jump of the boat but they didn’t jump because the boat tipped anyway then they all fell out. The boat was upside down than a flash of lightning came and a big boom of thunder it sounded like an elephant jumping on the ground with excitement. They all got hypothermia and they started to cough they were so cold. They looked like they had been in a freezer for days than they sadly passed away the ship sunk in the great big ocean like the titanic .The end

We were learning how to use metaphors and good describing words to make our writing  interesting for the reader.

Practicals

We are learning to carry on a pattern that grows and describe rules for patterns.The rule is to add another person each time.
